The Making of a Fabric Line

Amelia and I attended our monthly Heart of Ohio Quilter's Guild and we had the best time ever. We had been looking forward to May's meeting for months and finally the big moment was here!  Deb Strain was May's speaker!  I met Deb in Kansas City and she is the warmest, sweetest, kindest, and most thoughtful talented artist.
We became instant best friends when we met. She even brought my fabric purchases back to Ohio for me!  She is the best!
I couldn't wait to hear her talk about her process in designing a fabric line for MODA fabrics.
Deb draws everything by hand
She pours her heart and soul into designing her collection
This is all hand drawn with a micron pen
Even the background wording is handwritten
Each complementing piece is added to her overall fabric theme
This definitely makes me BEE JOYFUL!
Then Deb hand paints her drawings
Every single sample is painted by Deb
Each fabric line has 17 unique paint colors
And then those drawings are turned into gorgeous fabric!!!!
The fabric details are just as amazing as her meticulous drawings
Thanks Deb!
We think your artwork is BEEutiful!
And so are you!
