No Blue Doodles Allowed

It is my favorite pond day! Blue Pond Day! Each spring we add a blue dye to our pond to keep the algae growth down and to deter herons from fishing.  The blue coloring makes it much more difficult for the herons to see the fish and keeps our fishies safe from their very skilled beaks.

The first toss
Mr. Yesteryear Acres has mad skills
And it begins!
Watching the dye disperse is the best part
Mr. Yesteryear Acres has to toss the dye evenly around the pond
He is so good - he never turns blue!
I like this part the best
Watching the patterns swirl is awesome

No Blue Doodles Allowed
From these pictures, it certainly looks like Mr. Yesteryear Acres is doing all the work
But he DOES have the best appreciation team!
Just about done
Good to the last drop
Watching the colors swirl together
Blue Perfection!
