Better Late than Never!

Tonight we finally celebrated Mr. Yesteryear Acres mom's birthday!  Her birthday was on January 31st and like most big events around here - something always comes up.  That is how it goes when you raise puppies.  Nothing really ever goes as planned and you have to be prepared for a surprise around every corner. We have missed more big events than most families.  We have come to accept that we will celebrate whatever big life event there is when the timing is right.  This has definitely prepared us for dealing with military life. We just roll with the punches.... A January 31st birthday celebrated on April 11th - perfect!!!!  Mr. Yesteryear Acres made his famous steak tenderloin and sauteed cabbage and I made a homemade loaf of honey oatmeal flax bread.  For dessert i made- Mr. Yesteryear Acres mom's favorite - strawberry cake!

I think her wish came true!  When we said our goodbyes tonight I apologized for having her birthday dinner so late.  In true fashion Mr. Yesteryear Acres mom said, "Better Late than Never!" A good time was had by all!
