 Last night I surprised my mom with an overnight slumber party for 2.

 Today is my mom's birthday and so we treated her to a day of sweet birthday happiness!!!!

Astro's Cool Ride

Y Acres Studio Interior Design Part 2

 Work at my mom's new house is moving right along. Mr. Yesteryear Acres and I have been there every single week during the renovations. It is exciting to watch our design come alive!

Wallpaper coming down

Along with the entire kitchen wall!

As the construction continues- the designing continues as well

We have gone through hundreds of samples

From cabinets and handles

to paint colors

hardware

and roofing

Some choices she loved in the beginning were discarded the further we developed design cohesiveness throughout the house.

It has been fun figuring out the client's wishes and style choices without having my aesthetic override the process.

This material selection for chair upholstery made her heart sing

and that is my favorite part of fine tuning her interior design choices.

Thankful Caturday

 We are so thankful for our adorable Devon Rex Cats and Kittens.  They make every Caturday a Thankful Caturday!!!!

Turkey Trail Challenge

 After indulging in a gigantic heaping portion of Thanksgiving Goodness, this morning we hit the trail!! The Arboretum held their annual Turkey Trail Challenge and we were there right when they started.  

The challenge? 10,000 steps taken at the Arboretum

We logged our beginning pedometer number and off we went

We had a great time

And met the challenge!!!!!

We love our reward mugs!!!!!

Thanksgiving Gratitude

Thanksgiving means so much to me because it allows all of us to pause, reflect and give thanks for our many blessings in life.  It is my favorite holiday and our gathering this evening was just perfect.

As always, it is my favorite meal of the year

but more than that

it is a day full of family togetherness and love

I am thankful that homemade whipped cream

a very first bite of pumpkin pie

and very first Thanksgiving meal

filled my heart with overflowing joy and gratitude.

I am thankful for a house full of people that I love.
