Happy Halloween!

I am not quite sure of how the very last day of October arrived so quickly - but here it is!  Guess it is time to carve the pumpkins we grew this summer!
Mr. Yesteryear Acres is the fastest carver around!

Bri decided to carve a kitty cat pumpkin

I prefer to paint my pumpkins.

Pumpkin masterpieces in the making

Mr. Yesteryear Acres is so happy that his pumpkins are so loved

"Cricket Pumpkin"

See?  Cricket Pumpkin and Cricket....Twins!

Cricket found her pumpkin to be quite tasty

Cricket tried to eat Cricket Pumpkin??????
Now Austin's pumpkin is attacking Cricket Pumpkin!
When will the madness end?
Don't worry.....Dottie saved the day!

Everything is going to be alright
Or will it?
Happy Halloween

And Happy Last Day of October!

Can you find the.......

When I was younger I used to love the activity pages in a magazine that had you search for objects hidden within the drawing. Can you find the tea pot? Can you find the broom?  It was fun to circle all the hidden objects and made quiet hours pass quickly.  Little did I know that as an adult, I would be using this same skill set.....every.....single.....day.
What seems like a beautiful yard of colorful leaves
with vivid colors that are worthy of painting in a picture
has hidden treasures nestled among the many colors
Can you find the..........
Doodle Poop?????
Yep.  That is how I spend my days.  Looking for treasured doodle poop piles among the beautiful landscape of colored leaves.  Anyone want to join me?
It is a LOT of fun!!!!

Happy Cat Day

Unbeknownst to me, today is National Cat Day.  I didn't know such a day existed and honestly, a few years ago, I probably wouldn't have even given it a second thought.  I was clearly a dog person.  Dogs are great!  Dogs are the best!  Dogs are definitely best buddies, best friends, and unconditional furballs of love! What could possibly be better than a dog?  Well, nothing BUT I have to admit, a great cat is equally awesome. Our kitties are clicker trained, come when they are called, follow me from room to room, and are always right by my side. They are best friends with our doodle doggies and they make my life complete. I love our "doodle" kitties.
When I came in from doing the evening farm chores tonight.....this is how I found one of our doodle doggies and our kitten Simba.

I asked Simba if he wanted to write a blog about cats.

Simba agreed, on one condition.....
I had to type

"CATS ARE GREAT"
(Doodle Doggies too)
Happy Cat Day!

A Carpet of Gold

We had gloomy dark skies and stormy weather at Yesteryear Acres today.  It was a grey and dreary, very wet day, yet through all the grey, Autumn's beauty was still to be found.
I am not sure which were bigger, the rain drops or the leaf drops!

How I love my carpet of gold

If you have to do farm chores in the rain, there is no better place than Yesteryear Acres!

The last few gold leaves still holding on

I love my colorful walk!

It makes even rainy days beautiful!

My umbrella

Autumn's reds always makes me smile

Thank you for this beautiful day
Mr. Yesteryear Acres is my favorite person to share a rainy day's chores with

He said, "I just wanted to FALL in love with you today"

"I am LEAVing you a bouquet"
That Mr. Yesteryear Acres......
I fall for him every single day!!!!

Hunter's Moon Rise

Last night as I was trying to finish making our Bison Spinach pasta for dinner, Mr. Yesteryear Acres had me drop everything and come outside. He said the moon rise was spectacular.  I love Mr. Yesteryear Acres' enthusiasm for all things in nature. He loves our beautiful outdoors with all his heart. He was so enthusiastic about me joining him, I didn't even bother to put my shoes on.  I ran out in my slippers and of course, he was right.  The Hunter's moon was spectacular.
By the time I ran back to get my camera, the moon had already risen significantly

 but it was still amazing

The corn was aglow in a bright orange light
And every feature of the moon was visible to the eye
Mr. Yesteryear Acres and I admired the view
and felt lucky to have such a beautiful backyard
I think Autumn is breathtakingly beautiful
And I was happy to be home to share this with Mr. Yesteryear Acres
Time to head back for dinner

Good
Night
Moon
Thank you for the beautiful night

How I missed you!

Mr. Yesteryear Acres was right on time to pick me up from the airport today.  Hurray!  I couldn't wait to get home! But first.......
"We need to run to the warehouse club"
"and the other warehouse club"
"and the tractor parts store for gear oil"
and
and
and
I finally got home about 3 hours after I landed. I was so happy to walk in the door and it was awesome to be welcomed by my tail wagging committee! As soon as I got the SUV unloaded, I started taking puppy pictures. Sugar's Goldendoodle babies are so beautiful!
Oh how I missed you!

Their little ears opened up while I was gone

Now they can hear us walk into the room

And happily greet us with little tail wags

But snuggle time is still their favorite activity

A lap full of puppy hugs

We can't forget the boys!

Snuggly sweet

I missed my furry babies so much

Best Welcome Home Committee
ever!
