Getting Real Work Done

Whenever we are outside working, we are surrounded by furry friends. Sometimes getting real work done can be a challenge.
If you lean over to pet a doggie.......you might just find
You are a new cat tree!
Are you comfy?
Oh did you need some love?
Here's a snuggle
And a kiss

SMOOCH

Don't tell the others that I like cat kisses

Furry friends are the best
Another productive day at Yesteryear Acres!

My How We Have Grown

Nutmeg's Doodle Puppies have turned into little explorers this week.  They have really been enjoying the spring-like weather and have had so much fun exploring the great big outdoors.
Alright!  Time to explore!
Where should we go?
You take the left and you take the right....I will cover the rear

Got it!

I think I need back up

I am here!

Alright let's go!

Don't forget me!
I am coming too!

Ready for take off
We found Bri!
Thank you for the new toys
This is fun
Smooch!

I found a pig
We want to see!
I found a mountain to climb

Kisses break!
Hey, That doesn't taste like strawberry!

Let's find another adventure
I have an idea

Let's play with the cat!

He loves puppy kisses!
That cat is too much fun!
Double Chocolate Delight
What do you mean we only have 5 minutes left for recess?

We still have ears to nibble on

And puppy meetings

See?  We have important matters to discuss

Well I guess we better start cleaning up
I have the pig

Can we bring it inside?
I gave the cat our stick
Here you go kitty
It is your turn to play fetch now
We have to go inside
It is nap time!
Happy Monday!!!!

Unexpected Company

Every day I am grateful for my life here at Yesteryear Acres.  I cannot think of a more enjoyable way to spend our lives.  We are so lucky that every single day brings puppy kisses and puppy snuggles and puppy happiness.  We wake up each morning to Tail Wagging Devotion and the unconditional love that surrounds us is truly a blessing. I totally understand the allure of our life here and why people would like to come and visit every day, but this is just not possible. We have a strict visitation policy at Yesteryear Acres. We put our heart and soul into caring for our Doodle Doggies and Doodle puppies and their health and safety and well-being are our top concern. For this reason, we do not allow people to just drop by unannounced or uninvited. This may seem harsh but we are not a pet store.  We are also not a petting zoo or something fun to do when the weather is nice. Our mommy dogs do not like strangers knocking at our door.  Our mommy dogs do not think, "please come in and see my precious babies" or "please bring in germs, bacteria, viruses and diseases and threaten the health of my puppies".  They are protective of their sweet puppies and do not like having strangers handle their little ones.  The past few weeks we have received several uninvited guests knocking at our door.  Last week the couple admitted that even though we stated we have a strict visitation policy, they wanted to drop by and see what we were like when we weren't expecting company. Can you imagine if strangers knocked at your door wanting to come in and look around your home? I have no idea where these 2 people have been, who they are or what they are looking for and honestly, I don't want to open my door for a complete stranger. The day they stopped by, both Mr. Yesteryear Acres and I were sick. My daughter told them that we were ill but they insisted on talking to one of us. My husband had to get dressed to let them know their visit was quite unwelcome.  They let us know we should do business differently and should have an open door policy.  We actually did that in the past, and found our family life disturbed to the point that both doodles and humans were unhappy.  Thanksgiving, Easter, Birthday parties - people would drop by.  There were no boundaries and it was awful for the puppies as well.  We feel we have found the perfect balance with our visitation policy.  No one is welcome here until the puppies are weaned and the Mommy Dogs are happy to have their little puppies played with.  Once puppies reach a certain age, mommy dogs are far less protective.  They are happy to share their puppies.  The puppies are also happy to play!  We schedule our puppy visit day well in advance so families can have the day to meet and play with their new furry family members.  Every Monday I update our website and Monday's blog is full of new puppy pictures. I write a blog every single day in which I share everything about life here at Yesteryear Acres.  We want you to be involved. We want you to love watching the puppies grow.  We love writing about our life on the blog and sharing photos.  We love corresponding with our puppy families.  If you are wondering what we are doing when we aren't expecting company....  We are cleaning up puppy poop, playing with puppies, vacuuming, gardening, feeding our horses, working in the yard, baling hay, planting - we are living.  Sometimes we are just sitting around in our pajamas, enjoying our morning, surrounded by puppy antics.  These are the moments we love the most.  We are happy to share them with you on the blog - but if you just drop by, I am sorry, you are not welcome.  Those moments are for Yesteryear Acres only.
Keeping these cute Yesteryear Acres Doodle Puppies safe, happy and healthy
each and every day is what we do best.
Thank you for respecting our visitation policy

Add That One to the List

Last night we had quite the storm... Thunder, Lightning, High Winds, Rain - the works. Are we sure this is still February???
This morning we awoke to this:
Looks like "Remove fallen tree from driveway" will be added to the To Do List

Thanks Olive Doodle. That stick was definitely in the way!
Fence Repair and Stick Clean Up....OH BOY!

If Winter decides to return.....we are ready!
Another load for the wood pile
Blossom, fulfilling her supervisory position

Good job Olive!  You got every branch!

Last of the tree limbs
Guess we can check this off the list!
