Snowberry Season

Our Doodle Doggies are experts in snowberries.  They make sure to bring home as many snowberries as possible! They have created an easy step-by-step instructional blog on how to enjoy snowberries this season.

Step One - Taste the snow 

Step Two - Savor your snow cone

Step Three - "Mmmmmm" 

Step Four - Sweep the snow from the field with your paws 

Step Five - Use entire body to insure an even snow coating 

Step Six - (The Most Crucial Step) - Elicit the help of your brother 

Step Seven - TRICKED YOU!  

Step Eight - Watch your brother complete all seven steps!

Please don't talk about Step Nine.... 

 Step Nine - Show your human mom what you have done

Step 10 - Secretly admire how awesome your paw looks 

Step 11 - wait your turn for the warm water soak!

Step 12 - the Final Step -----

Do it Again!!!!

Birthday Snow!

Today we celebrated Amelia's birthday and we were so lucky to wake up to a beautiful blanket of freshly fallen snow.

The Growing Tails of Ernie McDoodle: An ICE Day for a Walk

Today we woke up to an icy winter wonderland, and one of Ernie McDoodle's favorite things in the whole wide world is ice! He looked at me and said, "Hey Mom, isn't today an ICE day for a walk?"

Look at all this ice!!

It is an interesting day when the trees are ice but the pond is not!

This is quite the puzzle! I must figure what else is ice! 

Come on Maverick!

Look Ernie! The field and the woods are all ice too!

Mmm crunchy frozen sticks and leaves!

Ernie isn't it beautiful?!

It sure is!! Ohhh did you see this sparkly shrub?

Oh that is a good one Ernie!!

Come on! Let's see what else we can find that is covered in ice!

Oh Ernie! You make every day a good day!

You were right my silly doodle! It was a very ICE day for a walk!

The Eagle has....not landed

There we were outside, working away when......WOOSH!  A Bald Eagle flew right by us! We immediately threw off our gloves in an attempt to retrieve our phone to take a picture and ran after the eagle.

It seems Eagles are WAY faster than humans running up a hill

But right there in the sky.....way way way in the distance - is a Bald Eagle

The Eagle has.......NOT landed

But it was here!

We saw it!

Now that's a big bird!!!

We are so excited that Yesteryear Acres has its own Bald Eagle Doodle!!

We hope you come back soon! Who knows?  Maybe next time we can say, "The Eagle has Landed!!!"

Back to the Rain

Well the sun was sure nice while it lasted!  Guess we better get used to living in a rain forest.  This has to be the wettest, dreariest, rainiest, winter ever!  Our doodle doggies go out nice and white (or cream or apricot) but they all come back in as chocolate doodles!!!! At least we don't have the freezing rain - so that is a plus!  The doggies are still ever so glad to go outside walking with us even in the rain.  Dogs make the very best walking companions ever!  No matter what the weather, ever day is a great day to go walking!

No Need to Wait

I know many people eagerly await the Groundhog's prediction as to whether we will have 6 more weeks of winter however today it is clear, there is no need to wait for the groundhog.

Just look at all this sunshine!!!! 

It feels like summer!!!!!!

The Doodle Schedule

It is hard to describe all the work here that we do at Yesteryear Acres. It takes all hours of the day and night to keep all our Doodle doggies and puppies happy, healthy, and very well loved. My sister wrote something on our To-Do list chalk board that made me smile so much! Now this is the best way I could ever describe the Yesteryear Acres work schedule...

A Sleepy Kind of Day

Some days I just really want to be my Doodle dogs. They get the best care and attention and best of all they get to NAP. 

I MEAN LOOK AT THIS FACE!
