 Yesteryear Acres Devon Rex welcomed their final two additions this week! 

Meet Elsa!

Elsa came to us all the way from Russia

And this is our sweet Bella

Bella traveled here from Belarus

They quickly learned their way around the Y Acres Studio

and are quite helpful at picking out fabrics

We are already so in love!

We think they are PURRfect

and so do the other Devons!

Puppy FriYAY

 Yesteryear Acres had a wonderful visit from the stork and we have new Doodle Puppies!!!!!! Our Late July/Early August babies are here.  We have new Labradoodles and Goldendoodles to love!

Salsa Season

 Chips and Salsa are WAY up there in the things I like best.  I probably could eat them every day of my life and never tire of them.  Today began the official start of homemade salsa season! Happiness abounds!!!

Fresh picked sweet corn

I have to say cutting the corn from the cob is my least favorite part

but definitely so worth it!!!!

Time to add several cups of fresh chopped tomatoes

and the Salsa spices!

3 quarts of Yesteryear Acres Corn and Tomato Salsa done! 

Seems like the perfect amount for me ...

I wonder what everyone else will eat for lunch?!

Start Them Young

 The Yesteryear Acres green bean patch is quite prolific this season.  We picked the whole patch last Thursday and it is already full of beans again. We have 2 bushels of green beans that need to be picked so we called on some expert assistance.

"William... Grandma said she needs help picking beans"

First you need to reach into the plant

And then gently pull the bean from the stem

You did it!!!!

Grandma is going to be so proud!

Good Job William!!!!!  Only 1.999999 bushels to go!

24 Hours

The Ups and Downs of Life can happen so quickly. The afternoon before - my son and I were having the very best time.  We were out riding bikes and we felt like kids again laughing at the end of a beautiful day. 

24 hours later, I got the call that no mom wants to hear, "Mom I've been in a car accident".  My son is okay - but yesterday proved to be a terrifying day for us all. My son's van was t-boned and the impact was so hard, his van flipped over. He spent the majority of the afternoon and evening in the ER. There were a few hours there where the radiologists were not sure whether or not my son's neck was broken. He was released late last night rather sore and very bruised, but thankfully, his neck is okay. While I awaited the updates on his condition, I found myself looking at these two photographs we took just the day before:

I kept thinking how can this happy face, that I just saw yesterday, be in so much danger just 24 hours later?  The Ups and Downs of Life - they happen so quickly.  Never take any day for granted. You just never know what tomorrow will bring.  Thank you to the paramedics, the police department, especially the close friends of Austin's that helped him at the scene of the accident, the medical team and my family for all pitching in yesterday. 

Words can never express my gratitude and thankfulness.

Tonight my son is safe at home sleeping in his bed.

Y Acres Studio Boutique

 I was asked to present some of the Y Acres Studio bags to an upscale boutique as they were considering carrying our line of totes and bags. Of course I was SUPER excited to receive the invitation!

I enlisted the help of my mom to help carry all the bags

Y Acres Studio had been busy creating the collection!

My mom is an excellent helper and model!

We brought in all the bags and.......

They said, "Yes!"
