Butterfly Sunset

As the sun was slowly sinking into the horizon, I asked my best friend Mr. Yesteryear Acres if he wanted to go catch the sunset.

Of course he said yes!

We had to get moving to catch the last of the light

First a quick stop to check how tall the corn is getting 

I'd say it definitely qualifies for, "As high as an elephant's eye"  

We made it in time to watch nature's art show unfold

It is one of our favorite things

Too Young to Vote

Today is the Special Elections Voting day here in Ohio and I took my sweet Hickory Doggie to go vote with me.

Looks like this is the place! 

Hickory had to wait outside with Mr. Yesteryear Acres while I voted because they said he was too young to vote. Hickory made sure to welcome all the incoming voters with a tail wag.  He is a patriotic doggie!

Mr. Yesteryear Acres gave Hickory his "I voted" sticker so Hickory was proud he did his part. Patriotic Duty - complete! All with Tail Wagging Devotion!

9 Blue Babies

Blue's Double Doodle babies are getting bigger every day! She is the very proud mama of 9 sweet puppies. Blue has 7 boys and 2 girls.

They will grow up to be 65+ lbs of love

Rub-a-Dub-Dub a Doodle in a Tub

Lately, to put it politely, Sir Maverick Doodle has been quite smelly. And I mean STINKY smelly. He walks in the room and all anyone can say is, "WHEW DOGGIE WHAT IS THAT SMELL!?!?" I am serious when I say that is me being polite! He is one smelly doodle! I think all his pond shenanigans have finally caught up with him. So today Sir Maverick got a bath. Now I can assure you, I enjoyed his bath a lot more than he did. Not only does he smell a million billion times better, but he made the best faces ever during bath time. And as his adoring doodle mom, I captured them all on camera :) Sorry not sorry Maverick! 

Things started out well... Maverick brought his squeaker ball with him to the tub

As I disappeared to get a washcloth, He started to get a little suspicious

"Ummmm I did NOT sign up for this"

"Nope Nope Nope Nope"

He did not enjoy his Ferris Bueller moment at all... 

Not even when I sang "Rub-a-Dub-Dub Maverick Doodle in a tub! 

He wouldn't even look at me when I shut off the water! Someone was a Mr. Grumpy Gills

"Please dry off my paws Mom!"

As much as this doodle loves to swim, He DOES NOT LOVE BATHS!

What a Stinker!

Luckily I had a peace offering!

And all was right with the world!

New Best Friends

Maverick is proud to announce that he has a new best friend! Jethro! The two doodles are LOVING playing fetch and chase outside. They are spending a lot of quality time together. It really warms my heart to see them get along so well! Maverick now runs to the back door with Jethro and grabs a ball for them to play with. It is the cutest thing ever!!! Jethro is really starting to excel with learning fetch! I am one proud doodle-trainer Mama!

Fix-it Friday

This afternoon Mr. Yesteryear Acres and my Brother set to work on the gator. We use the gator for pretty much everything around here, and lately our beloved machine has been struggling to start up. If the weather drops anywhere below 60* it won't start. Parked in an angle? NOPE! No go. So basically the gator needed some good ole TLC. Luckily we have the best Fix-it Friday team around!

Sweet Pea's Darling Doodles

Sweet Pea's darling goldendoodle puppies are here! The newborns and mommy are resting and doing very well! Sweet Pea is such a caring and loving mama. We are so excited to have her little pea-pods finally with us! Here is a sneak peak of the adorable doodle puppies! We will have more information and photos as the puppies grow :)

Why is it so Quiet!?

Today I wasn't sure what to write about. It as been a rather quiet day at Yesteryear Acres. Don't get me wrong, quiet days are always welcomed! That means everything is going well! All the doodle doggies are happy and life is good! I asked Maverick what I should write about and all I got was this face...

Hmmm, I don't know! Let me nap on it

Jethro and Maverick are conspiring against me! Why is everyone napping and being quiet!?!?
