Training Days

One of our son's favorite jobs is training dogs.  He loves working with them.  He loves how each dog is different and requires a slightly different technique to really make every doggie shine with success.  Austin really knows how to bring the best out of each dog and in turn, our dogs LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Austin.  There is no human that is more fun to be with.  Time with Austin is dog heaven!
It is Training Day!!!!
Training with Austin makes me smile!
The doggies do long leash training
and off leash training
and they love it all!
Thanks Austin!
Our Best Friend!

Sweet Penny Penny

Today we buried my younger daughter's childhood furry best friend. Penny has been Amelia's faithful companion for as long as Amelia can remember.  She has been with Amelia for every major important life event and celebration as well as all the days in between.  Out of all the people in the world, Penny loved no one more than Amelia.  Penny loved nothing more than being with Amelia and Amelia loved Penny with the same intensity. Penny was a pocket size bundle of unconditional love.  We will miss her with all our hearts.
Penny came to us as an 18oz tiny bouncy tail-wagging puppy of love
From the moment she arrived, Amelia declared that Penny was all hers!
There would be no sharing of Penny Penny
Penny agreed
And the two would never be separated
No matter how many doggies were with Amelia, Penny always got the prime spot
Snuggling right with Amelia
And the kitties
and the doggies
From Baby Grits
To Grown-up Grits
and all the doggies of Yesteryear Acres
Penny was a faithful lovebug
and best snuggle doggie ever
Amelia and Penny were always together
Penny especially loved Amelia at ice cream time!
and Breakfast Time!
and walking in the woods time!
Every morning, "Hi Penny Penny!" started Penny's day
Penny was loved all the days of her life
Forever and ever.
Rest in Peace Penny

One Last Romp

"Jaxie" is happily on her way home with her new FURever family.  It was love at first sight.  Jaxie's little tail was wagging as her new mommy's face was smiling and at that moment they decided they would be FURever best friends! Before Jaxie said her final goodbyes - she had one last fun romp back at the pond with her buddy Hickory.
Pond time!
Let's play with the floating otter
Okay Jaxie - get the otter!
I like it best when Hickory has the otter
Then I can chase Hickory AND the otter
Here I come!
He is FAST!
But so am I!
Hey wait a minute!
I can't swim that far!
Come Back Hickory, Come Back!
I will wait patiently and then.....
When Hickory is almost out of the water....
POUNCE!
Hickory.  That was fun!
I am ready to go home now!
Thanks Yesteryear Acres!!!
I am going to have the best life!

Looking for my FURever Family

"Jaxie" has been here with us at Yesteryear Acres this week learning so many new things and is doing awesome with her puppy training.  We found out last night that Jaxie's family will not be coming back to get her so she is now looking for her FURever family.  Jaxie will mature to 45-50lbs and has an awesome low to non-shedding coat.  She is mastering puppy commands and is a complete lovebug. Jaxie has finished her series of puppy boosters and is ready now for a new home.
I am very good at fetch
and snuggling!
I know how to wait politely
and love hearing "good girl"
I am looking for my FURever family
New family where are you?
I want to give you a big kiss
SLURP
I am a good kisser!
I sleep quietly through the night
and am very good at playing with my toys
all by myself
or with a friend!
My bags are packed
and I am ready
to bring tail wagging devotion to my new furever family!
