Doodle Doggie Blogger

Every day here at Yesteryear Acres is filled with Doodle Doggie Love, Doodle Puppy Antics and lots and lots of hard work. There is always something next on the list and rarely any time for relaxing.  Sometimes we are working so hard we need a little extra help. Thankfully, help is always right around the corner.  As I was pondering just what I should write for today's blog, a guest blogger appeared and volunteered to be the author for the day.
"Move aside, I've Got This......."
"Today at Yesteryear Acres was a picture perfect day for outside work like, playing fetch, helping water the garden by licking the water coming out of the hose, playing hide and seek in the grass, watching the fish in the pond, playing with doggie friends and an all around Doodle Doggie Perfect Saturday"
Love,
Doodle Doggie Blogger

Twas the Afternoon Before

Twas the afternoon before the storms rolled in and all through the garden
not a plant was weed free and Mr. Yesteryear Acres was stirring
He jumped away from lunch and his plate fell with a clatter
"We must pull the weeds until the rain starts to splatter!"
Away to the garden we ran in a flash
with rakes, hoes, and a bag for the trash
We pulled and raked and pulled some more
until the weeds in the garden were no more
For the what to our wondering eyes should appear
a sunny rainless blue sky that was clear
Mr. Yesteryear Acres pulled the last weed with a twinkle in his eye
"Ahhh" he said with a wink, "even the weather knew better than to ruin the fun"
As I stood there and admired our work, I laughed and said "and thank goodness we hurried!"

I heard him exclaim ere we drove out of sight... "Stay away deer! No garden snacks tonight!"

Always,
Amelia

New Friends...?

My Mom blogged earlier last month that I had moved and I am now living closer to Yesteryear Acres. So far I am LOVING my new Victorian Home! I have many new friends that seem to have been included with my new digs. Some I will admit, I like more than others...
Like Maverick's new kitty cat friend! I named her Curry. She's a very sweet outside cat who likes to hang around my house. I mean I MAY feed her all the time... but I think she just likes my home as much as I do :)

But NOT this... This mutant cricket spider shrimp like thing that I have been finding... I don't like him

I mean this one jumped at my face! What kind of neighborly greeting is that!? (That was prior to the squeal and stomp... He is pictured as the latter)

I don't mind this guy hanging around! Stick bugs never leap at your face!

And I would be amiss if I didn't mention all the old besties I brought with me!

Like my goofball Maverick doodle

And his sleepover buddies

My silly cat Gretel

And her equally doofy brother Hansel. Both of which are excellent unpacker helpers...

Not pictured are the sweet deer families who wander into my yard at night. I love your visits and your fawns are so adorable! And to the many bunnies that run away before I can take their picture, you are always welcome at my cottage! Here is to new friends in new places, and old friends who go with you no matter where you are!

Always,

Amelia

One Helper Ready for Duty!

It has been an amazing experience finding families in need of a furry friend helper! To see all the joy and hope that one puppy can bring is a beautiful thing indeed. I am just so excited for all the families who now have their bestest friend, companion, support, and bundle of joy. We have one more white golden retriever male who is looking for a family to help! If anyone knows of anyone who needs a helper therapy puppy, please send them our way! We have the most perfect lovable boy just waiting to fulfill his dreams! He is already learning a lot here at Yesteryear Acres and is ready to advance to the next level at his furever home!
Hello! Would you like some help?

I am really good at sniffing for things...

And chasing things...

As well as pointing at my toys

I am here waiting for you!

One helper ready for duty!!

Amelia

Some Shades of Blue for your Tuesday

Blue said with all this nice summer weather, she wanted to make sure everyone got a shade of blue to match the sky! She insisted her beautiful babies were the stars of today's blog. Here are some shades of Blue for your Tuesday!
1, 2, 3... Say BLUE Cheese!!! SMILE!

We want to be cornflower blue and powder blue, because they are soft like us

Hey guys... what do you do when you find a blue elephant?

Cheer her up of course! Ha ha ha ha

Oh brothers... how silly you are!!

No matter what hue of blue you decide to be, Blue's babies hope you have a terrific Tuesday!

Amelia
