Best Birthday Present of All

Today is Mr. Yesteryear Acres Birthday! Of course we started his birthday off just right.  A full big birthday breakfast.  Amelia made an omelet with all the fixings: ham, sautéed onions, mushrooms, peppers, cheese, fresh chopped chives.  It was perfect!  I made the side dishes and I have to say my buttermilk biscuits were the best I ever made.  Must be birthday magic.  The brown sugar maple bacon wasn't too bad either!  Mr. Yesteryear Acres loved every bite and then we asked him what he wanted to do on his special day.  The answer? WORK WORK WORK.  Did we expect anything else?

 We got right to work and just finished the garden when the skies opened up and we had a HUGE storm roll in.  We have some limbs down and it looks like a few trees didn't make it.  The power went out as well.  We heard from some friends that got it even worse than we did.  With the torrential rain pouring outside and dark and cozy and dry inside.....what could Mr. Yesteryear Acres do on his birthday now?  Well as I was just checking ........I found a sleeping Mr. Yesteryear Acres. A birthday nap!?!!!!  Well I think that may just be the best birthday present of all.  Sleep well Mr. Yesteryear Acres.  No one works harder and no one deserves a quiet peaceful birthday nap more than you do!!!!!
