Garden With a Twist

For months I have had Mr. Yesteryear Acres Christmas present idea on my secret "Christmas Buying List." Mr. Yesteryear Acres has wanted a Spiralizer to make Spiral cut vegetables for the longest time.  I figured that it would make the perfect Christmas gift. Every day I have to hear Mr. Yesteryear Acres say how much he would LOVE to have spiral vegetables.  Every day I listen how AMAZING it would be to eat "noodles" made out of zucchini.  I have held fast to my Christmas giving date and then......my mom got Mr. Yesteryear Acres the Spiralizer. She decided that poor Mr. Yesteryear Acres couldn't wait another minute to have his curly veggies!  I have never seen a man so happy in all my days!
It works!

The Adventures of Bo

This week I have been training Nutmeg's sweet Chocolate Double Doodle named Bo. He has been quite the good puppy so far! He has had no accidents overnight in his crate, no accidents in my house or anything! Bo definitely was not a fan of the leash at first... He has now graduated from a "rock" refusing to walk, to a very boisterous real live puppy who loves adventures. Bo is super sweet too! He loves following me everywhere and even has brought smiles to my friends via snapchat and FaceTime. Bo is one happy snuggly guy!

Look I am walking!!! I am no longer a rock to walk!

Bo you are the best!!!

Sometimes I like to call you Hershey Kisses! SLURP

Nap time with new friends
Bo's face after he learned how to squeak his bunny by himself... Priceless

Another great day of learning!

Always,

Amelia

Wedding Photos

For once, I was NOT the photographer at a family event! I wasn't sure how I felt about that either. I mean, I take 182,899,987,983 pictures at every single family happening.  It is what I do.  For my older daughter's wedding however, I relinquished control and hired someone else to do the pictures. It was quite fun for me to just be in the moment and to sit back and enjoy the festivities.  The hardest part was waiting a month after the wedding for the pictures to come back!  Normally I would RUN to my computer and start uploading my thousands of pictures the second I got in the door.  I had to practice patience.  I had to practice the art of waiting.  Finally...the wedding pictures are here!!!!!!!  YAY!  Here are a few photos of the beautiful lovely wedding ceremony!

Doodle Doggie Comfort

Waking up to the news this morning was heartbreaking. I watched the news unfold with tears running down my face.  After tragedies like this, I am left wondering what is the best way to approach life. Do we stop doing everything and instead hunker down at home and never leave? Do we become hermits so we can all stay safe but then miss out on adventures and outings that bring us joy? Or do we venture out and enjoy all the things life has to offer only to face the very real fact that in the midst of happiness, we could face being murdered? All I know is that I feel sad.  I felt sad all day. Hurricane catastrophes, political unrest, innocent lives lost.....it is hard to even turn on the news.  Today was a day to turn to my Doodle Doggies for comfort.
This feels much better

Furry Family Members

Most days it is easy to come up with my blog idea for the day.  There are so many things happening at Yesteryear Acres, I feel like the blog just writes itself! Once in a while, I am without inspiration and I sit at my computer and wonder, "just what am I going to blog about today!?" My answer is easily found.....
I just look at my lap
and the answer is clear,
"Love"
There is really nothing so pure and wonderful as the love of a furry best friend.
They ask for nothing but give so much. I cannot imagine life without our animals. Every day is one filled with love. Every day is one filled with tail-wagging devotion.
Thank you furry family members for always keeping me company
I love you so much!
