Campfire Caramel Apples

This past weekend we had another Campfire Dinner night which was just awesome.  I love cooler evenings and nothing beats campfire night.  Nothing except maybe having fresh picked apples to make caramel apples!!! Campfire apples are pretty fun to make and a nice alternative to S'mores.  Take your apple and put it on a stick, roast the apple over the fire until the skin gets bubbly.  Then peel off the skin, brush melted butter onto the apple, roll the apple into brown sugar and then roast again until the sugar caramelizes.  Mmmmmm!  It was our first caramel apple of the season and so good!  After dinner it was doodle time!
It was GIGANTIC rope bone fetch time

The Doodle Dogs LOVE this game

And happily played with my son

Until the sun set.
Another perfect late summer evening!
