Nutmeg Puppies ...We will miss you!

Nutmeg's adorable Doodle Puppies are all heading to their new homes this weekend.  We will miss these cute faces!!!!
Hey, Do you want to share my stick?
Just kidding!
Maybe we should find our own stick
Nah! Let's just wrestle!
Let's go for a walk with our favorite feline
Following the leader is so much fun
as long as you stop to pick up leaf toys along the way

Whew!  That was a lot of work

I'll just keep Mr. Yesteryear Acres hat safe from the blowing wind

Cat Snuggle Time!

Don't forget your kiss

Smooch!

Time to run around!

Let's Go!
Nothing better than playing in the sunshine

This is the best kind of fun

Do you want to run around with us?

Sharing is Caring
Puppy Pile!!!!!!
Hey where are you going?

Right behind you!

Break Time

This was a great day!

Happy Monday!!!!!!

Almost Unwatchable

Last night we did something we love to do but rarely have time for.  We watched a movie.  Now not an entire movie because that is almost impossible but we watched a good 2/3rds of an entire movie. We set a goal to quit working by 9:30 and miracle of miracles, at 9:33pm we called it a day. I think we had the movie going by 9:40pm. We actually had Saturday movie night at Yesteryear Acres.  Hurray!  Bring out the popcorn!  Bring out the blankets!  Movie time!  At approximately 9:45pm - we realized we chose an awful movie.  By 10:00pm we had given up any hope that the movie would in fact get better.  Now here is the worst part.....the movie was almost unwatchable.  It was not so bad that we turned off the movie. Nope, it was just one teensy weensy level above totally unwatchable. It was absolutely awful BUT......what will happen to the girl? Who is the actual bad guy? Will the lead character make it out alive?  These are all burning questions that sadly, we have to find the answers to.  So tonight, if all goes well, we will watch the remaining 47 minutes of the horrible awful very bad no good almost unwatchable movie.  I almost can't wait!

Saturday Happiness

We are super lucky that our son is able to come home from college almost every weekend and Bri comes home from nursing school 2-3 weekends a month. What do they love most about coming home?  Is it Mr. Yesteryear Acres company? Nope.  Is it my fabulous cooking? Nope. What could it be?????
THE DOODLE DOGGIES of course!
Saturdays are the perfect days for playing fetch
Yes....Even the cat plays too
We just have to use smaller fetching sticks!
This one is just for the Doodle Dogs
The doggies love how far Austin can throw
"Did you see that????  Austin made it to the corn field!"
Good Doggie!
Throw it again!
So much fun!
Thank you for coming home

The Right Teacher

We love spending one-on-one time with our puppies.  It is good for the puppies to learn a few basic commands while soaking up a little TLC. Today we worked on the "come" command with one of Nutmeg's doodle puppies.
Ready for my lesson!
But first....

I must chase this leaf

and then I must perfect my flying skill

and don't forget I have to kiss the cat!

Now what was I supposed to be doing?

Oh yeah!  Here I come!!!!!!

Thankfully I have the best teacher

I just follow Bandit every time you say, "Come"

See?  I am an expert now!

Here we come again!
The "Come" command is so easy to learn

when you have the right teacher!
Thanks Bandit!  I got it!

Hear me Roar

I have a funny feeling that yesterday's "Welcome to March" post didn't give the "lion" entrance enough bravado.  I thought I was clear that I paid homage to the "March comes in like a Lion" status but evidently I didn't go far enough.  Okay March.  We got it.  You are roaring like a Lion.
What's that?  Snow is coming?

Guess we better go check it out
Seems as if the snow squall is headed our way

Here it comes!

Snowflakes are yummy
So are snow sticks!
Alright March. We got the message.
Hear me Roar

In like a WET Lion!

I suppose you could call this entrance of March, "In like a Lion" but it would be the windiest, stormiest, wettest Lion ever!  Last night was full of tornado warnings, high winds, torrential rain and nonstop thunder and lightning.  I don't think anybody slept through the night here.  Storms like that are typical for late Spring but technically it was still February when the storms began! The good news is that our pond level has been extremely low and last night's rains really helped.  We sent our very best pond doodle inspector to verify the rising pond water level.
"I am happy to report a 6" rise in our pond's water level.  We now only have 29" to go until the pond is restored to full capacity."
Thanks for the report Pond Doodle Inspector!  30 more days until March goes out like a lamb!
