So Close!

Mr. Yesteryear Acres and I decided that tonight we would take the night off!  We were going to quit working at 5pm no matter what and make a gourmet dinner together and then watch an ENTIRE movie from start to finish.  We have been planning this for over a week.  This morning when we woke up, we both smiled and said, "Tonight is date night!!!" We have planned a most delicious menu of homemade gnocchi with a wild mushroom truffle sauce.  I have the gnocchi board ready!  I have the mushrooms sliced and ready!  I have.........no Mr. Yesteryear Acres!!!!! Mr. Yesteryear Acres left to do a little Christmas shopping around 3:30pm this afternoon.  It is now 7:30pm.  I am not complaining of course because Mr. Yesteryear Acres is Mr. Christmas!  He makes Christmas magical and that takes time and effort and sometimes it means that our, "We are going to quit no matter what and have a really nice dinner" turns into, "I hope we can have leftovers before 9pm and then watch one TV show and fall asleep on the couch" date night.  Oh well.  It was a lovely thought!
