As with every election day, I am thankful for my right to vote. Despite the tumultuous and at times horrific campaigning by both sides, the right to vote is something we should never take for granted. Mr. Yesteryear Acres and I tried to vote early over the weekend but the lines were 2 and 3 hours long. Today there was no such line when we got to the polls. We had a mere 2 people in front of us. Mr. Yesteryear Acres said, "Well at least we can be thankful for the short wait!" Thank you Mr. Yesteryear Acres. With so much negativity surrounding today's election, I needed a reminder of thankfulness for this day.
To the winner of today's election...
Please keep those in our military safe. Provide for them and protect them .... they are family. Please remember that.
Please keep the people of the United States of America safe
Please protect and honor and serve our country with grace and dignity. The American people deserve nothing less. We put our trust in you. Please prove us right.
