Did Someone Say Derecho?
Today's forecast doesn't look all that promising. While I was having my morning coffee, I distinctly heard the meteorologist say, "Derecho". Last time we had a derecho roll through here we were without electricity for a week. Everything in our town was without power. No grocery stores. No gas stations. Nothing. Ice was nowhere to be find for miles and miles. Our road was blocked by fallen trees for several days. It was pretty dire. Hopefully this afternoon's storms will not be a repeat of the last derecho. Of course we are preparing for the worst, just in case. We are filling up all our water containers to be sure we have water. We have well water here, so no electricity means no water. We are getting supplies ready, food prepared and filling up our gas tanks. Time to batten down the hatches! I hope everyone in today's storm path stays safe and the predicted extreme weather will not be as horrendous as they say it will be. No one wants baseball size hail falling from the sky! Hope for the best - Prepare for the worst. Guess it is time to fill another water jug! Here we go!
