Anniversary Birthday Anniversary Dinner

Since we have been so busy here at Yesteryear Acres we haven't had time to officially celebrate any of the big celebration events of August. Mr. Yesteryear Acres Mom and Mr. Yesteryear Acres Dad just celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary.  61 years!  That definitely deserves a celebratory dinner!  Mr. Yesteryear Acres and I have been married for 25 years this August and we haven't had time to have our anniversary dinner and my birthday came and went without any fanfare so last night we combined everything into one nice yummy dinner of happiness! We had Mr. Yesteryear Acres famous grilled steak and his most awesome yummy braised cabbage. I made a loaf of Honey Oatmeal Flax seed bread and we had fresh sweet corn from the garden.  It was DELICIOUS!  We even had two cakes to celebrate the occasion!  Chocolate cake with Double Chocolate frosting and chocolate cake with vanilla frosting.  We ate and talked and ate and talked and had the best evening. We talked so long that my poor son stretched out on the dining room floor and almost fell asleep right there.  He had been up since the crack of dawn at a cross-country meet and as soon as all the food hit his stomach - it was lights out! Thanks so much for coming Mr. Yesteryear Acres Mom and Dad!  Happy 61st! The evening was GREAT!
