As we share this Memorial Day weekend with friends and family let us take a moment to remember to honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. It is easy to spend this 3-day weekend with picnics and barbecues and summertime smiles but it is important to honor the meaning of this holiday. Not every family is able to share this holiday with their loved ones. Not every family had their loved ones come home safe and sound. Men and women have courageously given their lives in order to defend and protect our country and our freedoms. As Harry S. Truman stated, "Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices."
