We Got Rain!

It actually rained here yesterday! Real rain!  We got 4/10th of an inch! The doomsday predicted repeat of June's torrential storm path didn't come true but we did get one huge thunderstorm to roll through here.  When June's storm hit we really had no idea something that big was coming. It caught everyone off guard. This time the news media had us well prepared and since we were expecting the worst - we got a regular good ole thunderstorm.  We were treated to quite the lightning show and other than a few branches here and there - we made it through unscathed.  Around 2,000 people in our area lost power and all but 500 have had their power restored so it looks like all is well.  The garden already looks happier! I think the crunchy grass is happier too.  This afternoon we saw 3 baby fawns nibbling on some grass on the hillside so they are happy too. This was definitely one welcome thunderstorm. We may just get tomatoes this summer! Yea for the rain!
