Happy Independence Day!

Happy Fourth of July! As soon as I woke up this morning, I put on my patriotic outfit for the day. I am sporting red shorts and a blue and white striped shirt. I am ready for the festivities! When I came into the kitchen, Mr. Yesteryear Acres was already wearing his patriotic theme for the day. Blue Jeans and a Red USMC T-shirt. Doesn't get much more patriotic than that! My 3 kids are similarly dressed.  Despite the fact this will be a NO fireworks (cancelled due to the power outages), NO ice cream, and certainly NOT a cool holiday - we are all grateful for all we have been given and are happy to celebrate the Fourth of July all together. We only have a few days before our older daughter sets of for Quantico where she will face much tougher trials than a mere power outage.  We have become masters at cooking outside on our propane stove and will have our traditional hamburger cookout no matter what the weather brings.  I hope you have time to enjoy your family and have a most wonderful Fourth of July Holiday!
